Design Project Day 2

1. Look at the drawings from each person in your group and discuss strengths and weaknesses of each (on blog)
Decide which model has the most strengths (on blog):
Sofia's:

Decide on the details from the other models that you will include (on blog)
- Federico's idea of more papers.
- Claudia's idea of two people inside the box so it can be kind of a competition.

Decide what might need to be added or taken away from the model in #1 (on blog)
- The two people being inside the box.
- the golden ticket.

2. Make a mini model of your idea that works (photo on blog)

 4. Write down feedback (on blog) that you get from classmates
What was good:
- Idea of the golden ticket
- It seems very fun because of the flying balls
What should you consider changing?
- Put more color on the box.
- Maybe try it at home to see if the fan works.

Design Project Day 1

My group:
- Claudia Beltran
- Federico Abello
- Sofia Aldana

DEFINE PHASE:
Users:
-Primary girls and boys

Difficulty:
- Medium

What Makes a Game Fun:
- Getting candy
- Colorful
- Not too easy, but not too difficult
- Flying things
- Not too girly.

RESEARCH PHASE:
Links:
- Ticket Grab
- Pinball
- Caine's Labrynth

Good and Bad Things:
- Ticket Grab: It's fun that you get to get into a box and grab things out of the air, but the bad thing is it's hard to because the tickets are flying in all the directions.
- Pinball: It's difficult to play pinball and the handles don't move very well.
- Caine's Labrynth: The bad thing is there are a lot of places where you can loose, but the game is fun.

Things That Can be Improved:
- Ticket grab: Having more tickets inside the box.
- Pinball: The handles are very short, and are stiff.
- Caine's Labrynth: There were to many wholes where you could die.

IDEATION PHASE:
Brainstorm:
- Fishing
- Pinball

WE CHOSE TICKET GRAB
What Makes This Game Fun:
- Paper flying around.
- Getting a prize at the end.
- The prize you get, depends on the color of the paper.

What Could Go Wrong:
- That the blower won't work.
- The papers don't fly.
- The papers get out of the box.
- The kids cheating.

How to Avoid These:
- Get a stronger blower, with batteries.
- Arrange the direction of the blower.
- Leave instructions for the kids to turn off the blower.
- Giving the prize the day we go there.
